Preparing For Cricket Season

A.C.A. MEETS GROUNDS AND RULES At last night's meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Cricket Association. Mr. E. E. Nalder presiding. Mr. X. C. Snedden reported on the business done by a deputation from the Auckland Cricket Association and the Suburban Association, which recently waited upon the Parks Committee of the Auckland City Council in regard to the provision of better wickets and more playing areas. A letter was also received from the Parks Committee on the same subject, stating it was intended to utilise the services of Air. G. Mills, groundsman at Eden Park, in preparing wickets on the council’s playing grounds. Tl|» question of providing more playing areas would be given further consideration by the committee. Notification was received that E. H ; Bowley, coach to the association, would leave Southampton by the Corinthic on September 9 for Xew Zealand. It was decided to hold a special general meeting of delegates on September 20 to consider and adopt the revised rules, which were fully gone through by last night’s meeting. The annual general meeting of the association was fixed for September 27.
