City Loans of Nearly a Million
NEW ISSUES AUTHORISED HEAVY PROGRAMME AHEAD A UCKLAND citizens have a heavy financial programme ahead. Facilities for granting a total of £898,812 in loans and balances of loans have been granted by the Local Government Loans Board. This is in addition to the tramways and bus loan of £500,000. Particulars of the new loan Include: Streets improvements loan, 1924, of £710,000, balance not raised, £310.000; consolidated loan, 1924. of £847,000, balance, £140,000: waterworks loan, 1928. of £400.000, balance, £200,000; to redeem waterworks extension loan of £150.000, maturing July 30. 1927. say, £107,000; waterfront roadway loan. £100,000; amount required, less sinking fund accumulations, for redeeming matured debentures, £41,812; a total of £898,812. The application for a loan of £19,000. being 10 per cent, additional on the loan of £190.000, is still being considered by the board. The, application for the raising of £25,000, the balance of the loan of £50.000 for drainage works, has not yet been proceeded with.
