MR. BALDWIN’S ABSENCE By Cable. — press Associatioyi.—Copyright LONDON, Thursday. The Cabinet met twice to-day to clear up business before the departure of the Prime Minister, Mr. Baldwin, for Canada on Saturday. It is officially announced that Sir Austen Chamberlain will be actingPrime Minister in Mr. Baldwin's absence. The position at the Naval Conference at Geneva will be thrashed out at a further meeting to-day. Mr. W. C. Bridgeman and Viscount Cecil arrived in London last evening.—A. and N.Z.
