DAIRY MANAGERS MEET CONFERENCE TO-DAY
The first conference of the Auckland branch of the Dairy Factory Managers’ Association ever held at the Winter Exhibition began this morning. Owing to the noise it was found necessary to break off and the meeting resumed this afternoon. An address on his experiences as New Zealand delegate to international dairy managers’ conference in Australia was given by Mr. R. Harris, of Waitoa. The grading standard in Australia he said was about two points lower in New- Zealand. Mr. Karris described many aspects of factory work in Australia, including the standr.rdistaion of cream cans, the use of overhead conveyors at receiving depots, and the use of elaborate tiling in factories. The new president elected this morning was Mr. R. Harris, a past president. Mr. P. C. Petersen, ex-presi-dent, was appointed secretary, and Mr. J. Rutherford was appointed to the executive.
