WHOLESALE BAPTISM

200 DIPPED IN BATHS FAITH CURES CLAIMED Nearly 200 people, their ages ranging from 15 to 60, were baptised in the Glasgow Swimming Baths recently. They were the converts of Pastor George Seffrey, the Welsh evangelist, who has been conducting a revivalist campaign. The baptisms were conducted by Pastor Fletcher, who was in full robes under oilskins. Dressed in long black robes from head to heel, the women entered the water in single file. They were completely immersed. Several became hysterical, and most emerged from the water with a cry of “Hallelujah.” In many cases whole families were baptised. Two girls were among the converts, one dressed in tennis costume. Many of the people announced that they had been cured of tuberculosis and other illnesses.
