RETAIL CONFECTIONERS
AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION It was decided to form an Auckland Retail Confectioners’ Association at a recent meeting of retailers. Mr. C. H. Furness presided. The Wellington confectioners are to be asked to wait on the Minister of Labour, the Hon. G. J. Anderson, with a request for definite information as to the provisions of the proposed Bill dealing with closing hours. With a view to strengthening the association’s membership, members agreed to canvass their respective districts. A draft of the constitution and rules was referred to the executive. Officers were elected as follow: President, Mr. J. Sayegh; vice-presi-dents, Air. F. G. Steinert, Miss A. Inglis; hon. treasurer, Mr. J. Allen; committee, Airs. M. Smith, Messrs. W. Dixon, J. R. Munro, W. A. Bell and D. Beaumont; secretary, Mr. A. Page.
