MAORI RUGBY TEAM’S TOUR
BUSH UNION BEATEN Press Association. PAHIATUA, Wednesday. On a heavy ground, the Maori “All 1 Blacks” defeated Bush in a fast, open j encounter by 23 points to 9. The for- i wards were well matched, but the j Maori backs were too fast and clever ! for the opposing line, Pelham, Te Ngaio and Falwasser being always dangerous. The Bush forwards were every bit i equal to the Maori pack, shining especi- ; ally in the loose. Weight told against ; them in the scrummages, from which I they seldom secured the ball. The halftime score was 12 to 3. For the winners, Te Ngaio (2), Pelham, Smith, Rene, J. Gemmell and Falwasser scored, Smith converting one try. For Bush, J. Galvin scored a try and TJdy kicked two penalties.
