ON HIS MERITS
Although a number of sporting writers freely offered the opinion that Terence Dillon was lucky to win the Campbell Handicap at Auckland, being convinced that the unfortunate spill made his task easy, the fact remains that the performance of the speedy son of Author Dillon was full of merit and McLennan’s charge was as unlucky as any of the others during the race. The Oamaru trained gelding is on a 4.30 mark at Addington next month and if his owner decides to take on the opposition, Author Dillon’s fine son will show the experts whether he was lucky or not in winning the big race at Alexandra Park.
