DEVONPORT GOLF CLUB

A BRILLIANT FUNCTION The members of the Ladies’ and the Gentlemen's Golf Clubs at Devonport (they are officially the Waitemata Golf Club) organised in the Parish Hall, Devonport, last evening one of the most successful dances held in the suburb d’elite. A bold use of colours, old rose and soft pink right round the walls, was harmonised with handsome blush roses, and a draping from the ceilin'’- of natural greenery and flowers. Over 200 couples took the floor and the tax on supper room accommodation was great, but a ladies’ committee handled three sittings in record time. The chaperons were Mesdames Mason, Craignule, Goldwater, and Gooding. Mr. A. R. Kennedy and Miss Marjorie Mason were joint secretaries and music was supplied by Mr. Jack Prime’s orchestra.
