Fine Performances at Auckland WON ALL EVENTS Press Association —Copyright Auckland, December 9. The Canadian schoolboy athletes competed against Auckland secondary schoolboys and in open company at Auckland yesterday afternoon. The weather was fine with a strong wind blowing down the ground. The 100 yards was run into the teeth of the wind but the time was good. The visitors were successful in all the events except one. That was the high jump, in which Hackett, Auckland and New Zealand champion, was successful. The Auckland schoolboys were outclassed by their brilliant opponents in every event confined to their class. Results were:—.

120 yards hurdles:—Zizis (Canada) 1, Finlayson 2, Cruickshank 3; won easing up by three yards; time, 16 2-ss. . 100 yards:—McPhee (Canada) 1, Elliott 2. Savage (Canada) 3. This was a splendid race. Thirty yards from the tape Elliott was racing on terms with the two Canadians. McPhee finished strongly into the teeth of the wind to win by less than a foot. Savage being inches behind Elliott. Time, 10 l-ss.

High jump:—Hackett, Gft., 1; Jansen (Canada) and Chadwick, sft. 9in., 2. Hackett won at sft. lOin. and then cleared Gft.

220 yards:—McPhee (Canada) 1, Elliott 2, Zizis (Canada) 3. The field raced in close order for ,150 yards, McPhee then drawing away to win by nearly two yards. Zizis was inches behind Elliott who slowed down near the tape. Time, 225. 440 yards secondary schools: —Lemon (Canada) 1, Fleming (Canada) 2, Clarke 3; won by a good yard, Clarke nearly two yards away. Putting 121 b. shot secondary schools:— Wares (Canada), 46ft. 7in., 1; Coxhead, 41ft. lin., 2; McHugh, 39ft. 9ph., 3. Broad jump:—Richardson (Canada), 22ft. sin., 1; Prendergast, 20ft. IOMn., 2; Brown, 20ft. 7-iin., 3. 880 yards secondary schools:—Mitchell (Canada) 1, Ferris (Canada) 2, Stephenson 3. At the half mile Ferris led by a yard from his team mate, who then went into the lead and opened up a gap of five yards. Ferris made a great effort in the straight but was beaten by two feet. The third man was 20 yards away. Time, 2m. 3 l-ss. Hop, step and jump:—Richardson (Canada), 43ft. 9in., 1; Wares (Canada), 40ft. 5Hn., 2; McGregor, 40ft. 3in., 3. 440 yards secondary schools relay:— Canada No. 1 (McPhee, Richardson, Savage, Zizis) 1, Auckland 2, Canada No. 2 3; won by 40 yards, seven yards between second and third; time, 43 2-ss.
