RACING IN HAWKE'S BAY

Tomorrow's Fixture Reviewed FIELDS OF HANDY SIZE By "Sir Oracle" r There will be no lack of runners in the fields engaged in tomorrow's fixture sponsored by the Hawkes Bay Jockey Club. While no Taranaki horses are engaged, the meeting; is likely to claim fair racing interest. In the two open company races, fairly strong class fields are carded, while the hack races have received excellent support. Tomoaua Hurdles of £7O. One mile and a half: Kahuuoke 10.13, Aneniom eter 9.7, Heliotype 9.6, Gold Ruler, Winter Sport, Rory Mor, Grumpy, Glasslough 9.0. A field of handy size is carded for .the Tomoana Hurdles. Kahuuoke is a fair sort of a Gisborne performer, while Anemometer has been threatening to win over the sticks all this season. Grumpy is a novice which has gained a great reputation at Hastings. Gold Ruler and Heliotrope are other possibles. The best may be GRUMPY ANEMOMETER KAHUNOKE Trial Stakes of £6O. Five and a half furlongs: Potent, Whaddon Chase, Miss Simplicity, Thane, Silver Song, Black Magic, Silage, New Bliss, Mercian Lady, Kentucky Song, Sarah Grand, Gay Dog, The Grasper. The winner of the Trial Stakes should not need to be much good. None of the candidates appear to have any form to recommend them, but Kentucky Song and Mercian Lady have both done a fair amount of racing. Going on reputations, the favourite is likely to be Thane, which is reported to have shown some sp»ed in recent trials. The best of them may be

Not a great deal is known about the Nursery Handicap bujnch, but some of them have had recent racing. Mesurina possibly has shown .the most promise, but Golden Time Happy Landing, Plato and Blue Garter are all prospects. Most prominent may be MESURINA GOLDEN TIME PLATO Spring Handicap of £IOO. One mile and a quarter: Brambletorn 9.0, Sunny Sky 8.6. Slippery 8.2. Cuddle 7.5, Chopin, Royal Bengal, Tres Sec, Stitch 7.0. Quite a good class open company field is down to contest the. Spring Handicap. Brambletorn has not been successful so far this season, but his most recent efforts showed that he is fast coming back to form. Sunny Sky did not keep her Avondale engagements, but she showed rather impressive winning form at Gisborne lately. Racing anywhere in the Hawkes Bay, Slippery always seems to H a good prospect. Cuddle is a good hack and may prove well up to open company. Like Brambletorn, Chopin is due for a come back at any time. The others on the minmium, Stitch, Royal Bengal and Tres Sec, all have a show. Those that appeal arc •SUNNY SKY BRAMBLETORN SLIPPERY Gienaray Hack Handicap of £7O. One mile: Blue Boy 9.4, Cuddle 9.1. Hatuma and Sabatini are both late winners while Flamingo ran good races a Trentham recently. Cuddle (if e served), Tres Sec, and Maine, are others worth consideration.
