DUKE OF GLOUCESTER

COUNTRY MOTOR TOUR j Press ' Association —Copyright ; Melbourne, Nov. 8. J The Duke of Gloucester spent this j morning in a motor tour of the Danden- ! ong Ranges, picturesque hill country close to Melbourne. j Though it was intended as a quiet morning, free from pomp and circum- j stance and official formalities, the Duke j was unable to escape the desire of the j hill residents to honour him. The jour- j ney soon invested itself with all the ! clamour of an official Royal progress. At I one stage a party of roadmakers mount- j ed a gaily decorated lorry, enthusiastically waved and cheered the passing Royal car. j The Duke suitably acknowledged the greeting from democracy.
