TOLL CHARGES SHOULD BE ABOLISHED
0 Sydney Harbour Bridge At a recent meeting of the North Sydney Council, Alderman Stanton proposed that the Local Government Conference should be asked to affirm that the Sydney Harbour Bridge should bn proclaimed a national work and that the toll charges should be abolished. Alderman Cramer said that all that was keeping population away from the northern suburbs was the to!! on the bridge. The prosperity of the suburbs hinged wholly on that question. Thousands wanted to live on that side of the harbour, but hesitated to go there simply because of the cost of travel to and from the city. Mr. Stanton’s proposal was agreed to.
