When a fire occurred at midniglht on a Marseilles mail plane, the pilot ordered the wireless operator to jump with a parachute which was safely accomplished, the operator landing on the banks of the River Lire despite the darkness. The pilot meanwhile mastered the flames and despite damage to one of the three engines descended safely at the Lyons aerodrome.
