SAVIDAN WINS Press Association.—Copyright. Wanganui, Au,g. 27. $ With tho race always in hand, J. W. Savidan. Auckland, won the Now Zealand cross country title for the fifth time at Wanganui on Saturday in a convincing manner. Although led by C. Weller, Wanganui, for a short distance, ho left the 19 year old runner after tho first two miles had been covered and gained a lead over tho hilly country. Wteller did his best, to catch tho champion, but the pace was too hot ,and the Aucklander returned to Spriggens Park to win the €J miles race by 120 yards. K. Johnston, Wanganui, displaced J. G. Barnes, Otago, who lost his title and could not do better than take fourth place.
