Motor Car Overturns in Ditch Press Association.-—Copyright. Christchurch, Aug. 24. Minor injuries were received by three passengers when Dr. Thacker’s motorcar, driven by a chauffeur, swerved to avoid a cyclist riding on the road near Kaituna this morning and overturned into a ditch filled with water. Dr. Thacker received scratches and suffered shock but was able to attend to the other passengers, Mrs. Bean, wife of Canon Bean, who received head injuries, and Mrs. Thacker, who had a wrist broken. Mrs. Bean was taken by ambulance to the Christchurch public hospital, and after being treated under an anaesthetic was removed to her home.
