DAMAGES FOJt DEATH OE UUSBAM>. RUN DOWN BY MOTOR CAR. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, This Day. At the Supreme Court, Lucy Charlotte Witty, a widow, claimed from the Southland County Council £ISOO damages for the death of her husband who was struck by a motor car driven by a servant of the corporation, John Dennison, who has since left the Dominion.
Witty was cycling- at night on his right side of the road, when he was .run down, and plaintiff contended that the damage to Dennison's car, corresponded with what would he expected from such a collision. The jury awarded £B7O with costs.
