Sir* John Finlay leads petitioner, and’ Mr Skerrett x!o& -respondent. petitioner- claims that he had • of the-valid votes cast, - and therefore was duly elected, and large number of. invalid papers - were counted in favor of Mr Macpherson that ought to be struck off the poll; further, that a number of votes in favor of the petitioner were improperly rejected, and that these votes ought to have been added to the poll of the petitioner. Mr Skerrett,. in moving to have ItfAvpetitlon struck off the die, said the petition was addressed to the Chief ‘Justice, and was being heard • by~ Wo Justices of- the Supreme Gourti ‘He doubted very much if there was such a thing as an Elec■H 8 Coprt.
