Fatal Accident
FALL DOWN LIFT WELL. Per Press Association. Wellington, March 2d. A fatal accident happened at the Town Hall on Saturday afternoon, resulting in the death of Robert Smith, married, aged fifty. Deceased went to the Town Hall di. ring the afternoon to see the custodian, hut nothing is known of his inovemen t s afterwa rd s. Alfred Usmar who was assisting with some decorations in the hall, hoard groaning, and discovered Smith a( the bottom of the lift-well. Smith was brought up unconscious and died before medical aid arrived. Smith had been employed until recently a» a e'eaner at the Town Hall, hut there was no apparent reason uhy he should he in the vicinity of the lift, which was used exclusively for the carriage of goods, ,
