The Gilgandra Jackoy Club were disappointed with the amount offered for the publican’s booth and decide i to hold the annual meeting- on teetotal lines, no intoxicants being allowed to he sqld on the course, which was quite a new departure in Australian racing history. A local report ■•claims that it was a huge success. ' There were large fields and plenty of money. There was a big attendance, with an increase of ladies present.

There was beautiful weather for the Ashburton Trotting Club’s meeting. There wore record fields. The track was rather soft. The totalisator put through £17,187, as against £10,09-1 last Year. Results:—
