TWO DEPUTATIONS.
TO THE PRIME MINISTER. [[Per Pres* Association.] Auckland, April 20. A deputation from the Auckland Technical College Old Boys’ Association waited on Mr , Massey, asking for Government assistance towards the completion of the building, for which £35,000 is required. Mr Massey said lie would refer the matter to the Minister for Education, but held out little hope, in view of the great number of .claims for public buildings from all over the Dominiom A deputation from the Chamber of Commerce waited on Mr Massey, urging assistance to the Dominion House scheme proposed by Earl Grey. 'Mr Massey replied that the Government was not taking any risks regarding the Dominion House proposal, and would proceed with a scheme for the erection of new offices adjoining the Adelphi Theatre, in the Strand, but would not have the slightest hesitation in disposing of the new office if the Dominion House scheme was approved by the other Dominions. This could bo done without loss, and he felt certain that if Earl Grey could get the other Dominions to join in the scheme New Zealand would not stand out.
