MR McGOWEN.
WARMLY WELCOMED IN SYDNEY Sydney, September 4. Mr McGowen was warmly welcomed by his colleagues and a largo gathering. The Premier said Britain was a greater country than ho imagined it to lie. Tlio contrasts between the two extremes of wealth and poverty wore not so groat or acute as he expected from what he had read.
