SYDNEY WOOL SALE. By Electric Telegraph—Copyright United Press Association. Sydney, September 1. The wool sales included a quantity of tho new season’s clip. A gjod proportion was dirty ana lull of burrs. The attendance was large. Competition was mostly confined to tho Gorman section. Prices were good. FauJtics were, neglected, and there wore considerable withdrawals. Greasy wool touched 12;|d, scoured Is B;jd. Mr. Newton Ring's Stratford Weekly Report. At tiio Haymarket on Saturday last there was a very large attendance, also a large penning of pigs and calves, practically every lot were sold at the hammer, prices, however, wore, if anything, a little easier. I quote slips and woaners 7s, Ss to-10s; small stores, 11s Gd, 12s Gd, to 16s; medium do., 17s, 19s, to 255; breeding sows, late, £3; calves, Is, 1 Gd, to 4s; horses, £4 to £l7 ss; chafFcutter, £2 17s Gd; sundries, etc., selling well. At the Mart.—Poultry: 1 had a larger entry of birds than usual, although tho number of birds coming forward did not equal , tho demand". TARANAKI WOOL, SKIN. HIDE AND TALLOW SALES. MR NEWTON KING’S REPORT. On Tuesday, August 29th, I held my usual four-weekly sale of above produce, the catalogue comprising 2r. bales and 127 sacks wool, 3i64 sheepskins, l(i casks and 75 tins tallow, IG'Jo bides, 3459 calfskins, and the usual assortment of horse iiair, tails, bones, etc. Competition for all lines was very keen tnroughout the sale. Sheepskins and wool, widen consisted mostly of crutchings were par to Rl higher. Tallow advanced £1 to £1 10s per ton. Average class of butcher hides were on a par with last sale’s prices, poorer sorts and damaged, however, sold better to an extent of -J-d to Ju per lb. Farmers’ hides siiowed a marked increase, damaged sorts particularly selling well. On Tuesday, 29th nit., we held our usual four-weekly sale of above produce before a good attendance of buyers. The catalogue comprised 1 fadgo, 23 bags wool, 559 sheepskins, 480 hides, 380 calfskins, and a small quantity of horsehair. Competition was keen for all lines, hides selling particularly well, prices in some instances being Jd in advance of last sale.
