FIRES.

ONLY A GAOL. BRIGADE AND PRESS NOT WANTED. (Per Press Association.) Invercargill, September 4. There was a fire in or at the rear of the new gaol to-night. The brigade turned out, but was refused admission, as were also the press reporters. The fire seemed to have been subdued in about an hour or a little more.
