The Registrar is to be given discretionary power to exempt wholly or in part from tho requirements of the section any society or branch transacting business in respect of which he deems those requirements to bo inapplicable. It is further proposed that a. society or branch shall not ho disentitled to registration by reason of any practice of providing for a benefit by means of an assessment or equal levy, but no society or branch shall be registered with rules providing for any such practice unless the Registrar is satisfied that adequate provision is made for tho benefit so offered by the society or branch.
Mr. Buxton is to ask the ActingPrime Minister if the Government will consider the advisability of introducing legislation this session to alter tho term of Parliament to five years instead of three.
Mr*. E. H. Taylor is offering a suggestion to the Minister for Education time the time has arrived when State boarding schools for country children should lie established, fees being charged sufficient to cover expenditure. Mr. Pearce is to ask the Minister for Public Works when the railway lino to the Mount Egmont quarry will bo completed, and when supplies of metal will bo obtainable by local bodies.
Mr. McLaren lias given notice to ask tho Minister for Education if lie intends this session to bring down an amendment of the Education Act to provide that all members of education hoards shall be elected by the direct vote of the people.
