FOOD COMMISSION.

LEPROSY AND FISH. London, August 4. Giving evidence before tho Food Commission, tho naturalist of the Fisheries Department, dealing with tho connection between leprosy 7 and fish-eating, said the exact relationship between fish diseases and diseases in man is little understood. With proper cooking there is nothing to fear, even when the fish had internal parasites. He emphatically disclaimed any connection between leprosy and fish, if eaten fresh or after being treated by any method when reasonably fresh.

Frank Farnell, ex-chairman of the Fisheries Board, advocated an institute for fishery experiments and experimental oyster faring. The prices now charged wore a distinct imposition. Fish should cost considerably less than fourpencc per pound.
