BRITISH POLITICS.
THE LORDS WARNED. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. United Press Association. London, June 29. In the House of Lords, during t' e discussion on Lie Veto Bill, Lord Cromer emphasised the necessity of an impartial tribunal to decide what a Money Bill was. Lord Haldane said the proposed amendment would enable a committee to control Parliament. It was impos siblc to separate the general policy from finance. Lord Doreburn held tho amendment would dethrone tiie House of Commons from an hitherto unassailable authority on questions of finance. Lord St. Aldwyn suggested that a committee consisting of tho Lord Chancellor, the Speaker, and the Chairmen of Committees of iiotli tiie Houses of Lords and Commons, with a fifth person chosen by the other four. He merely declared that nothing would induce the GoM-rnment to accept the committee. If Lend Lansdowne’s proposed amendment were persisted in all possibility of an agreement would vanish.
