HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. There was a very fair audience at His Majesty’s last night to witness a- repetition of Wednesday’s picture programme, the cold weather no doubt being accountable for the absence of many. The programme will lie repeated to-night, and those who wish to see some particularly fine films would do well not to miss this opportunity. THE JOCK WILLIS DAVE SMITH COMBINATION. . Great interest is being manifested in the forthcoming season of the above combination, which opens at the Stratford Town Hall on Saturday next, July Ist. Since their last visit hero the company has been further augmented, and is spoken of as one of the most delightful surprise packets that lias yet toured the Dominion. The company is comprised of a number of versatile artists who present a veritable potpourri of musical gems. Humorous monologues fascinating comedies and the latest song successes. Included in the combination are the Caledonian quartette' party, who specialise the rendering of the auld, auld sangs, and have earned themselves the reputation .of being the best harmonists and soloists that have yet toured the Dominion. The comic element will bo well catered for by Jock Wallis, the favourite, Scotch comedian, and Mr Edward Headlam, a monologue entertainer of exceptional merit will present an amusing item entitled “Singers and their Songs.” All the old favourites will be seen and heard in new items, and the second part will servo to introduce Mr Dave Smith, New Zealand’s champion middle-weight boxer of the world, in a refined athletic,''display introducing ball punching, rope skipping, and shadow sparrowing, illustrating the prominent boxers’ blows and methods of attack. Mr Smith’s performance is of a highly refined nature and can bo witnessed by even the most fastidious.
