AUSTRALIAN MILITARY COLLEGE.
Sydney, June 27. Lord Dudley, Governor-General, opened the .Military College, which is situated at the Dnutroon Homestead, in tiie Federal capital area. He declared the adoption of compulsory service in Australia and New Zealand was a testimony to the determination of the inhabitants of both countries to place themselves in a position of effective del once. Welcoming the New Zealand cadets. Lord Dudley said that all were glad the Dominion joined Australia in this undertaking, and hoped that Australian and Now Zealand cadets would make a firm friendship that would lead to a closer bond between the two countries which stood sentinels for the Empire in southern seas. They want-* od Australia and New Zealand to cooperate in all affairs appertaining to these seas.
