(Received 28, 8.5 a.m.) Ottawa, Juno 2 1. Dawon City reports state that a severe outbreak ot small-pox has occurred. Precautions have been adopted to prevent its spread. INFANT TdCRTAUTY. o (Received 28, 8.5 a.m.) Ottawa, Juno 27. Out of a total of 190 deaths in Montreal City during the last few weeks, 119 were children under five years of age—a record for infant mortality. EXPLOSIONS. (Received 28, 8.5 a.m.) New ‘ York, Juno 27. An explosion aboard tbo submarine Pike, at San Diego, injured three of the crew. The others escaped as the vessel was about to descend. A spark caused an explosion in the magazine, of the Western Power Company at Peoria. Two persons were killed, their bodies being blown 150 feet. Buildings wore wrecked.

A race war between Americans and Italians is reported from the town of Weaver, West Virginia. _ Four have been killed and many injured. The sheriff and ninety men are attempting to restore order. .
