(Received 28, 8.5 a.m.) Ottawa, Juno 2 1. Dawon City reports state that a severe outbreak ot small-pox has occurred. Precautions have been adopted to prevent its spread. INFANT TdCRTAUTY. o (Received 28, 8.5 a.m.) Ottawa, Juno 27. Out of a total of 190 deaths in Montreal City during the last few weeks, 119 were children under five years of age—a record for infant mortality. EXPLOSIONS. (Received 28, 8.5 a.m.) New ‘ York, Juno 27. An explosion aboard tbo submarine Pike, at San Diego, injured three of the crew. The others escaped as the vessel was about to descend. A spark caused an explosion in the magazine, of the Western Power Company at Peoria. Two persons were killed, their bodies being blown 150 feet. Buildings wore wrecked.

A race war between Americans and Italians is reported from the town of Weaver, West Virginia. _ Four have been killed and many injured. The sheriff and ninety men are attempting to restore order. . ( / MILLIONAIRE AND MONARCH. o A FAIR EXCHANGE. (Received 28, 8.5 a.m.) Berlin, June 27. Mr Piergont Morgan has presented the Kaiser with Luther’s letter to Charles V. of Germany, which cost £sllO. The Kaiser has conferred on Mr Morgan the Order of the Firstclass Red Eagle. OVERSEAS MINISTERS. (Received 28, 8.5 a.m.) London, Juno 27. The Duchess of Sutherland’s reception to the Follows of the Colonial Institute at Stafford House to meet the overseas Ministers was largely attended.
