Cr Astburv made his reappearance at the 'meeting of the County Council this morning after being absent from the two previous meetings owing to severe indisposition. If the weather clears the •.ratberiug promises to be by far the biggest and host trotting meeting over held in Taranaki. Cr Marfell reported to the County Council tins morning that ho and the engineer had inspected the contrivance invented by Foreman Roberts for use in cleaning nut culverts. They bad, he said, found it to work .well and should not bo expensive. On the motion of Cr Walter it was decided to give Roberts leave ol absence to enable him to visit Wellington while the Counties’ Conterenco is sitting in order to enable him to push his invention.
