FRENCH OFFER TO AMERICA
Troops For Pacific War (Rec. 7 p.m.) WASHINGTON, May 10. After conferring with President Truman, the French Minister of Finance, M. Rene Pleven, announced that France had offered to furnish two divisions immediately, with more following, to fight Japan. M. Pleven said he thanked Mr Truman for American assistance in the rehabilitation of French railways.
He assured him" France’s desire to continue participation in the Pacific war had not ended. He added that he believed Mr Truman would consider the offer favourably.
