ESCAPEE FROM BORSTAL SENTENCED
Charged with escaping from the Invercargill Borstal Institution on May 8, David Alexander Leith was sentenced to be detained for one year, the sentence to be cumulative with his present sentence, at a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court before Mr R. C. Abernethy, S.M., yesterday afternoon. Leith, who was serving a sentence for the conversion of a car, had escaped from the institution on May 8 and had been recaptured on the same day in the Otatara district.
