KITTYHAWKS AND BOMBERS
Suggested Visit To City The fact that a request had been made to the Minister of Defence that bomber and Kittyhawk aeroplanes should be sent to Invercargill on the occasion of the visit of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band next month was mentioned by Mr P. L.' Hodge, chairman, at the meeting of the Metropolitan Patriotic Committee last night. The idea was that the planes should land on the aerodrome where people could be given a chance of seeing them. No reply had been received, but if the request were granted it would mean that the tentative programme drawn up for the visit of the band would have to be altered.
