N.Z. AIRMAN DECORATED

(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, June 6. The D.F.C. has been awarded FlightLieutenant Harold Leslie North, of Wellington, a member of the Australian Air Force. The citation says that he has commanded a flight since the formation of the squadron. He performed very valuable work during the training of the squadron and also on its operational activities, displaying great courage and initiative.

Flight-Lieutenant North was earlier with another unit and fought in the Battle of Britain. He has destroyed at least five enemy aircraft.
