Mr R. P. Gillies, assistant chief accountant in the head office, Railways Department, Wellington, is at present in Invercargill on official business. Before his departure to join the Navy, Mr G. F. Blick, of the telegraph branch at the Invercargill Chief Post Office, was bidden farewell by the staff yesterday afternoon. In making the presentation of a hold-all and compact leather writing outfit, Mr J. Cormack, senior supervisor, extended to Mr Blick the good wishes of the staff. Mr Blick suitably replied.
Mr William Stewart Armitage, solicitor, has been admitted at Dunedin by Mr Justice Kennedy as a barrister of the Supreme Court of New Zealand.
Advice has been received that Lieutenant-Colonel P. A. Ardagh, D. 5.0., M.C. (New Zealand Medical Corps) has made a complete recovery from wounds recently received in the Libyan campaign. Lieutenant F. T. Bennett, son of the Rt. Rev, F. A. Bennett, Bishop of Aotearoa, has been appointed, to the rank of captain.
