THREAT OF OPEN WAR
QUISLINGS AGAINST LOYAL NORWEGIANS (Rec. 8 p.m.) STOCKHOLM, Jan. 24. The newspaper Aftonbladet says that the Quislings, in future, will resort to open warfare against loyal Norwegians because their obstinate resistance leaves no other choice. “We have not so far engaged in open civil war because our firearms were taken from us,” the hewspaper declares. The Svenskadagbladet says that numerous incidents have recently occurred between Norwegian workmen and Quislings. The German authorities arrested 50 workers employed in the German naval dockyards at Bergen, and also 200 at Trondheim. In pursuance of their policy of replacing patriotic, public officials by their own leaders, the Quislings have dismissed five county Governors. The Norwegian Government in London has announced that membership of Aamling will henceforth be illegal. The Government has proclaimed the organization a party of traitors and members are liable to loss of civil rights and a fine of 1,000,000 crowns.. It was announced in Berlin that 10 Belgians, and also a man and a woman without nationality were executed in Brussels for sabotage of German defence works.
