OBITUARY

MRS W. HUNTER The late Mrs W. Hunter, third daughter of the late Mr and Mrs John McLaren, of Camp Hill, Wyndham, was one of a family of 10 of whom but two survive, Mrs Palmer, Nelson, and Mr J. McLaren, Camp Hill. She was educated at the Mimihau school and in 1908 married Mr William Hunter, their first farming venture being at “Brookdale,” Redan. After a short stay there they took up farming operations on “Lawfield,” and later moved to “Blackhill,” also in Redan. Mrs Hunter was closely associated with everything connected with the social life of the district. During the Great War, and almost until her death, she made comforts for soldiers and did Red Cross work. She was one of the oldest members of the W.D.F.U., and held the office of vice-president for some years. Mrs Hunter is survived by her husband and family of four. There is one grandchild.
