Mrs H. Donaldson, Louisa street, has returned from a holiday at the Rocks.
Mr and Mrs W. R. Rea, Pomona street, have returned from a holiday spent at Dunedin and Queenstown.
Miss Eileen O’Byrne, Dalrymple street, has returned from a holiday visit to Queenstown.
Mrs M. Bagley and Mrs G. Burgess, Invercargill, spent a few days last week with Mr and Mrs J. Kirker, Otahuti. Mr and Mrs A. F. Manning, Fulton street, returned yesterday from a holiday at Stewart Island.
Mrs Rodan Thomson and Misses B. and G. Thomson, Dalrymple street, have returned from a holiday spent at Dunedin and Oamaru.
An enjoyable afternoon was spent in the Browns hall when the members or the Browns branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmer’s Union met to bid farewell to Mrs Knott, who is l eav ~ ing the district. The president, Mrs M. B. Chisholm, in making a presentation said the branch was losing a valuable member. Other speakers were Mrs A. Hamilton and Mrs M. H. McCallum. Miss Rona Hamilton sang during the afternoon, and competition winners were Miss M. Walsh, Mrs McCallum and Mrs Arnott.
