PLANES LAUNCHED BY ROCKET
(Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, January 21. German newspapers reveal that the Luftwaffe is using a new rocket device for launching fighters as part of the defence against Royal Air Force sweeps over the Channel. The device enables fighters quickly to climb several thousand feet with an original speed of nearly 400 miles an hour. This gives defending planes ample height before the arrival of raiders.
