RETIRING NEXT MONTH

ACTING SUPERINTENDENT OF FIRE BRIGADE

A request that he r should be relieved of his duties at the end of February next because of ill-health was made by the acting superintendent of the Invercargill Fire Brigade (Mr R. A. Robertson) at a meeting of the Invercargill Fire Board yesterday afternoon. The request was acceded to. On the suggestion of Mr R. R. Binney, the board expressed its appreciation of Mr Robertson’s loyal services during his term of employment and also expressed best wishes for improved health during his retirement. It was decided to grant Mr Robertson eight weeks’ leave of absence on full pay, plus accumulated leave due to him.
