SIGNPOSTS IN WAR TIME

Sii-,—ln the last issue of The New Zealand Motor World appears the following: “Whether in peace or war the A.A. signposts must be renewed and repaired.” In the present state of national emergency it appears to me that tiie Government should take immediate steps to see that all direction signposts be removed for the duration of the war. This, as. a precautionary measure, would ensure that such road signs would be of no assistance to an invader. As the private motorist is prevented through lack of petrol from using his car, signposting is totally unnecessary at the present time. Therefore tiie matter is one which, in common with other necessary measures, requires. immediate attention by the War Cabinet. E.P.S.
