WEDDING
GOUGH—SPRATT The wedding took place at Knox Church, Parnell, Auckland, of Joseph George, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. J. Gough, of Dalrymple street, Invercargill, and Thelma Lilian, youngest daughter of Mrs M. A. Spratt, of Ravensbourne, Dunedin, and the late Mr W. J. Spratt. The Rev. G. A. Naylor performed the ceremony. The bride wore a smart frock of smoke bluj crepe fantasy, featuring high neckline, pintucked yoke, new three-quarter length sleeves, and swing skirt, showing the unusual combination of pin tucked panels and inverted pleats. A model hat in deep rose, with matching veil and shoes and gloves to tone, completed the ensemble. She carried a bouquet of shaded pink roses and hyderangeas. The bridesmaid, Miss Alice Walker, of Auckland, wore an American floral silk frock in petunia and blue tonings, with hat of Tuscan straw, with black velvet. Her bouquet was of sweet peas and abutilons in pink shades. The bridegroom was attended by Mr W. Chapman. A reception was held at Mr W. Chapman’s residence at Mount Eden, at which relatives and close friends of the bride and bride-groom were present.
