Fair And Milder

(Special) WELLINGTON, January 20. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington; Moderate to strong winds from a northerly quarter; the weather fair at first, but later scattered rain developing in the far west; temperatures somewhat milder.

Yesterday Invercargill experienced its best weather for some time. The day was practically calm with warm sunshine.

At 1 o’clock this morning the weather was fine and calm. The barometer reading was 30.24 in. (steady).
