NATIONAL CANDIDATE FOR HAMILTON

The only nomination received for the National Party candidate for the Hamilton seat was that of Mr Frank Findlay, deputy-mayor of Hamilton and chairman of the Waikato Hospital Board. Mr Findlay’s nomination will be forwarded to headquarters for approval. The seat is at present held by Mr C. A. Barrell (Government). LABOUR OPPONENT FOR MR DOIDGE Mr D. A. Hill, farmer, of Kerepeehi, has been selected as the official Labour Party candidate to contest the Tauranga seat at the general election. Mr Hill has been associated with the Labour movement for many years and was appointed Government representative on the South Auckland Land Board in 1936. Mr F. W. Doidge (National Party) is the present holder of the seat. ,
