SOUTHLAND GUN DOG CLUB
Successful Trial At West Plains The. Southland Gun Dog Club held its fifth trial of the season at West Plains on Saturday afternoon. The entries were exceptionally good and the standard of retrieving work was high. The judges were Messrs J. B. Pasco (puppy class), J. R. O’Brien (novice class), J. Reid (limit class) and G. L. McKenzie (open class). Detailed results are as follows:— Puppy Class (Land Trial). Nine entries.—J. G. Pasco’s c.c.r. Tiger (89pts) .1, T. Robinson’s c.c.r. Kariol (88pts) 2, W. Gorham’s spr. spnl. Starlight (84pts) 3, W. E. Hazlett’s Labrador Shah (78pts) and C. Rapsey’s c.c.r. Sally (78pts) equal 4. Novice Class (Single retrieve across water). Thirteen entries. —W. Gorham’s s.s. Starlight (handler, Mr P. Hennessey) (95pts) 1„ T. Robinson’s c.c.r. Kariol (92pts) 2, T. Chamberlain’s Labrador Black Banner (91pts) 3, W. Bunting’s golden retriever Ron of Moata (87pts) 4, H. Johnson’s c.c.r. Dock (86pts) 5. Limit Class (Two-bird retrieve across water). Five entries.—W. F. Clouston’s Labrador Ythan Robert (99pts) 1, R. E. Blaikie’s Labrador Ned (90pts) 2, W.
