YOUTH KILLED AT SAWMILL
(P.A.) GREYMOUTH, July 28. Standing on a sapling near a line down which logs were being hauled, Allan Brerton, aged 16, was thrown in front of a log at Jack Brothers’ sawmill, Bellhill, today and was killed instantaneously when the log passed over his chest and head. Over 12 feet of log passed over the body before the locomotive could be stopped.
