TRIBUTE TO POLITICAL OPPONENTS

“I do not agree with Brigadier Hargest in politics, but he has the heart of a lion and the knowledge and pluck to back it up,” said the PostmasterGeneral (the Hon. P. C. Webb) in the course of his speech at the opening of the new post office in Invercargill yesterday. He added that Brigadier Hargest was doing a great job now in fighting against Nazism overseas. Mr Webb also paid a tribute to the Hon. Adam Hamilton, who was prevented from attending the ceremony by War Cabinet business. “No man could have given the Government better co-operation or more enthusiastic support than Mr Hamilton is giving at the present time,” Mr Webb said.
