OBITUARY
MRS ISABELLA DICKSON The death occurred at her home at St. Clair recently of Mrs Isabella Dickson, widow of the late Mr AlexandexDickson, of Mataura, in hex- 79th year. Mrs Dickson was well known in Eastern Southland, where she had a host of friends and acquaintances. She was born at Drumadrachy, in the parish of Mayheracoolmoney, in County Fermanagh, Ireland, in 1861. Seven years later she left with her mother for New Zealand in the ship Viola, landing at Dunedin and staying fox- some years at Waikouaiti. She later travelled south with her parents, the late Mr and Mrs Andrew Murray, Mi- Murray being the first school teacher at Mimihau and Wyndham. In 1884 she married Mr Dickson, who was the son of the late Mr- and Mrs George Dickson, of Gold Greek, and she went to live at Bullendale, Skippers, later going to Riversdale and Mataura. Upon the death of her husband, Mrs Dickson lived with her mothex- and sister at St. Clair, Dunedin. A woman of wide interests and sympathies, Mrs Dickson took an alert interest in the affairs of the day. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs J. N. West (Browns), and two sons, Mi- George Dickson (Edendale) and Mr Alick Dickson (Auckland). There are five grandchildren and fdur great-grandchildren.
