GERMAN VESSELS ATTACKED Eight Ships Put Out Of Action (Rec. 2.15 a.m.) LONDON, July 20. Planes of the Coastal Command yesterday put out of action eight German ships of a total tonnage of 48,000. During the past week 42 German vessels of approximately 230,000 tons have been put out of action. _ Bomber Command aircraft last night attacked Hanover. Full details are not yet known, but it is stated that great fires were started. ITALIAN SEAMEN SENT TO PRISON HOUSTON (Texas), July 20. Captain Ernesto Rainse, of the Italian freighter Mogioia, was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment, the chief engineer to four years and 19 members of the crew to three years and six months’ imprisonment each for sabotaging their ship.
